Altea is a coastal town in the province of Alicante of the autonomous Valencian Community in Spain. Altea had 22,290 inhabitants with an area of 34.4 km² as of January 1, 2019. The city on the Mediterranean Sea lives today mainly from tourism of the Costa Blanca, whose development began here in the 1950s.
